2010 CKC Herding Rule Changes - Submit Your Input Now!
2010 Brings us lots of changes with the CKC Herding Council. More zones are now represented, creating a larger council with most of Canada now involved. This is great timing, because we are coming up to the third year since our last rule change.
Rule books can be printed every three years, which means that any major rule changes come into effect at that same time. This fall will likely be our Council meeting, where changes are discussed and voted on. If the Herding Council votes in favour of a change, it will then go to the Board of Directors for another vote before being published in Dogs in Canada for comment.
These time constraints mean that herding enthusiasts need to be ready to submit their ideas during this herding season. There will be a deadline for items to be added to the agenda and if you miss that deadline, you will have to wait three more years for the next meeting.
For information about how to make changes to a CKC program – go to this link: http://www.downriver.org/ckcprocess.php. Any CKC Herding Rep can also answer your questions. This is your program – we want your input!! Let’s be ready for this meeting!!!
